Why this matters.
Six family-sized homes on a lot that's been vacant since a fire — adding density where it belongs, near transit and schools, without displacing anyone.
Six family-sized homes
Three-bedroom homes with room to grow, near Mt Baker light rail, Route 7, parks, and Franklin High School.
Community ownership
Named for and led by its owner, this project is designed to build lasting family and community wealth.
Local jobs
Construction sourced through local trades, with priority on South Seattle contractors and small businesses.
Better street frontage
A derelict vacant lot becomes a landscaped pedestrian edge with new street trees and an extended sidewalk on Claremont.
What it looks like.
- Two separate structures reduce bulk and match the street's scale
- Central woonerf courtyard — shared outdoor space for all residents
- Terraced roof decks and recessed entries break up the Claremont facade
- All six homes are elevator-ready
- New street trees, extended sidewalk, landscaped retaining wall at street
- No existing trees displaced

How we're reaching the neighborhood.
We're committed to genuine community notification — in multiple languages and through multiple channels — before design decisions are finalized.

Questions neighbors have asked.
Will utilities on my street be disrupted?
New water and electrical service connections are part of the project. Short daytime interruptions may occur during tie-in work. Affected neighbors will be notified directly by the utility provider at least 48 hours in advance. No long-term changes to existing service.
When does construction start and how long will it take?
Construction is targeted to begin spring 2027 following permit issuance. Completion is expected fall 2027. We'll post confirmed dates here as they become available.
Where will residents park? Will street parking get worse?
Three of the six homes (the townhomes) have private off-street garages accessed via the alley. The rowhomes have covered entry/storage at grade. No on-street parking is required or removed.
What will construction be like for neighbors?
Hours follow Seattle's noise ordinance — weekdays 7am–7pm, Saturdays 9am–7pm, no Sundays. All staging stays within the site and alley. You'll receive a pre-construction notice with direct contact numbers before work begins.
How are public comments actually used?
Every comment goes to the project team and is included in the SDCI community feedback record. An anonymized summary will be posted here after the focus group. Comments can directly influence final design adjustments before permit intake.
Who do I contact with concerns after construction starts?
Email Claudetteslanding@upliftdevelopments.com. A site-specific phone number will be posted here and on job-site signage before work begins.
